Kingaroy boasts a flat, country style course with tall gums lining the fairways, well maintained undulating greens and several bunkers throughout. The course sits 5 km out of town on the Bunya Highway and is surrounded by quiet acreage with all OOB on the course lurking for the right handers slice. There are some birdies out there with three or four short par 4's and the two par 5's measure 450m and 427m respectively. Wide fairways give you some reprieve off the tee but inaccuracy around the elevated greens can make for tough chip shots either through or over the thick kikuyu. The 267m par 4 13th is the only hole where water is in play and its a great risk verse reward hole. Longer hitters will get excited on the tee but anything pushed to the right and beyond the 200m mark will fall in the drink. This is the only 18 hole course in the South Burnett and round of golf is $25.

This is a good country layout, apart from the walk from the first green to the second tee which crosses two fairways. On a busy day it could be quite dangerous. There is a bit of water about to keep you focused and the OOB line is inside the fence by 3 or 4 metres on 10, 11 & 12 which is a bit unneccessary. It is a fairly flat course and is easily walked. The fairways were in good condition with an even covering of grass. The greens were generally good, but there were a few holes with big bare patches on them, but they rolled reasonably well. We played on a Friday and had no hold ups. There were only a couple of groups on the course. The green fees of $23 are good value for what you get. Well worth a visit if you are in the area.

Fairly typical country course that relies, as they all do, on rain and TLC. Kingaroy gets the care and maintenance needed and is usually fairly lush. Bring your straight game and don't try to drive the cover off the ball, otherwise the trees are strategic and deadly. Flat but still fun. Some short par fours balanced by long par threes. One of the more sociable and friendly clubs I have visited. Reasonably priced and worth a visit. The Relic.
