Jundah’s par 72 sand scrape track is one the more scenically unique courses in the Central West and is located on the northern side of town next to the Health Care Centre. The fairways are firm red earth and the course is set amongst sandy, desert like outback scrub. There are no water hazards out there but OOB looms on approximately half the course and numerous trees and dirt mounds have been positioned in the middle of fairways to punish even the best hit ball.  Some interesting holes on the front include the 90 degree right dogleg par 4 3rd measuring only 301m and the longest par 3 in the Central West which is the 223m 9th with dirt mounds to clear. The back nine was opened in early 2017 and features some interesting holes like the 100m par 3 15th with a surprisingly tough stroke index of 8 and an unusual green that slopes from front to back. Also, the 326m par 4 16th has several trees dotted down the fairway and finally the monster 531m par 5 18th where OOB runs down the left hand side and particularly close to the fairway at the left bending dogleg. The oil greens at Jundah are the best aspect of this course with several sloping surfaces and some quite sizeable. They’re probably some of the best greens you’ll play on in the region and along with an interesting layout scraped out of the natural landscape makes a round at Jundah a great option to have a hit when travelling toward the expansive south-west corner of Queensland. A small competition is played on Sundays at 8am during the cooler months and you’ll be hard pressed to find a smaller town in the country that has an 18 hole golf course!
