Decent enough country track. Layout is quite straight-forward and signage is good compared to many such courses. Honour box system in place so you will need change. So no toilets, drinks (only one bubbler on course) or food. Course is dry however didn't need to take relief on the fairways. Greens are well grassed however ball doesn't run true - the same putt can go either left or right at the hole. This was the major disappointment for me.

Measuring almost 5900m, Gin Gin's 9 hole layout is fairly open with minimal hazards, medium sized greens and well suited for a social hit on your travels. Most of the trees on the course aren't too bunched and recovering from an errant tee shot isn't too difficult. There are however a couple of tall gums that sit in the middle of the 5th and 6th fairways and the thick scrub sitting behind the 3rd green will swallow any misjudged approach. The only water to be concerned with is on the 495m par 5 9th/18th running down the right hand side from tee to green. There are a few birdie opportunities out there especially when an easterly breeze assists you on a couple of short par 4's and the 443m par 5 13th. Like most of the region, Gin Gin is in desperate need of rain and the course is no exception. The tee boxes, greens and surrounds are irrigated well but expect a few thin, rough lies down the fairways. Most holiday makers will stick to the coastal courses around Bundaberg 30 minutes away, but if you're after a quick hit with no crowds in quiet bush surrounds then Gin Gin is well suited. $15 for 18 holes.
