This is a great little course on the NSW side of the Murray between Robinvale & Swan Hill Vic. It has a par of 66 & ACR of 65, which is easier than most but still a good challenge with great river scenery & birdlife. It was fun to play but that could easily change if you don't avoid the lakes, river & trees!

One of the few times I disagree with Mr. Q-tip. Tooleybuc is not for the less frequent golfer but for the older, steadier, straighter hitter. A short par 66 with only the one par five (each nine) yet stray, and the hidden O.O.B. or the Mighty Murray gobbles your slice. Not to mention "Kakadu". Greens are great and the fairways are soft, if you don't stray. Well worth the hit on a Thursday (thanks old guys), Friday twilight or weekend comp. Excellent all sports club with top meals. Buggy hire available from the motel. Would not hesitate to recommend Tooleybuc for a relaxing, value golf stay. The Relic.

Measures 2277m Par 33 with four par 3s ranging from 113-150m, four par 4s ranging from 305-357m and the slight dogleg right 430m 4th / 460m 13th with the Murray River on the right from the dogleg corner with a lake straight through the dogleg along the leftside from the tee to 10m short of the green guarded by a bunker back right. The previous reviews are spot on with this course having medium-to-large sized bent grass greens with some rye and kikuyu grass in the rough and smooth, flat couch teebeds and fairways. There are 6 bunkers on the course. The first 5 holes have all the bunkers on the course with most holes having wide couch fairway landing areas. The front nine and back nine tees are quite close to each other. Highlights include the par 5 mentioned above and the 305m 2nd / 325m 11th with a 90 degree dogleg left around a lake with the flag visible from the tee it is tempting to take the driver out but there is a bunker between the water and green shortside. The par 3s are quite short with large greens but the course is great for the less frequent golfer. Played here 15/09/2011 with $13 green fees for 9 holes and $18 for 18 holes. Tooleybuc is a small village of around 200 people about 30 minutes south of Balranald and 2km from the Murray Valley Highway or 40km north of Swan Hill. Well maintained little course with a friendly club.

Here's a recent update for Tooleybuc GC. Fantastic little course operating on a small budget. As mentioned in other reviews, there are 9 Bent grass greens and 18 tee boxes. Fairways are couch grass. The greens are in very good order, as are the fairways. Par 66 - 2 par 5's, 8 par 4's and 8 par 3's. The course can be dominated, but it can also dominate the golfer given the water and OOB that occur frequently. There are only 6 bunkers, but the sand quality and drainage are 2nd to none when comparing to similar country tracks. The Sports Club acts as the clubhouse and has the best ale in town, great bistro, pokies, keno, TAB about to go in and 3 function rooms. The motel overlooks the 1st green and is only 120mts from the 1st tee - the motel also provides a cart for guests, whilst the Sports Club has one for cheap hire. $18 for 18 or $13 for 9 into the honestly box, or pay in the Sports Club and get a couple of free middies on your return. Mini golf for the kids (and adults). There's also a supervised kids room in the Sports Club and kids meals in the bistro. 2 immaculate bowling greens can also be utlized for a social roll, day or night. The course is never over populated with players, except for the Sunday 1pm shotgun start - all welcome. So a relaxing round is guaranteed. Well worth the visit. 40 minutes up the road is the Murray Downs Resort Course. Cheers; The Greenkeeper :-)

Last time I played I think it was $7 for 9 holes payed to the honor box.

It is 9 holes but has 18 tees.

Very short but if you like Murray Downs you will like this.

The 2nd is a short par4 which is drivable across a lake about 230m carry great little hole.

The 4th is a moderate par5 with water drivable through the fairway from the tee which requires a little fade to find the fairway.

There is water all down the left to the green which has many breaks in it and 3 putts are easy.

Well worth a look and I would play it anytime.

Want a weekend with the lot that will leave your wife and kids happy as well. Well this is a magic find in the middle of nowhere. The course is only 9holes but is well maintained and there are double tees for most holes to give you an honest 18 hole challenge. The layout is creative and demanding - if you stray you will definitely lose your ball in the rough or the water or even the mighty Murray. Dare I say it but this is a course that the ladies will excel at if they play tight and straight.

If you hit straight all the par 3s are birdie-able and several of the par four greens are reachable in two, but woe betide an errant shot unless you are a platypus. We stayed in the adjacent motel and they had a fantastic deal on golf, breakfast, and meal in the nearby club. The motel also has a great bbq on the balcony directly overlooking the first hole and the Murray River. This is not a Murray River resort course or even a great one, but if you want a weekend away from the smoke, a really fun and challenging game, and a venue where you can eat and drink and have a bloody good time for the whole family for less than $120 a day, then Tooleybuc is definitely the place for you. My best weekend away for ages.
