This is the best course along the mighty Murray River, which has plenty of good courses to choose from. It is also the best country course that I have played (excluding Tassie). I rank it no 29 out of 280 courses that i have played. The course has a great layout, plenty of perfect bunkers, lots of water, very fast & tricky greens & perfect carpet fairways. This is a real golf oasis in a dry land. Absolutely enjoyed the whole experience!

Great course. Really well designed catering to all levels of golfer. The pictures on the website make it look flat but don't do it justice because it is nicely undulating without being hilly and has some good changes in elevation. The greens have plenty of variety protecting the pin and rewarding the player who can take the smart line of play. I love the 2nd green where you have to play to the middle and run the ball into the pin. If you blaze away at the pin your ball will go over the back. There is water, lots of trees and plenty of bunkers but you don't spend all day looking for your ball or raking bunkers. Didn't play well but easily got around in under 4 hours and thoroughly enjoyed the walk. Highly recommended for most golfers. Maybe not for the absolute beginner.

Played with three members in Thurs comp 23/7/15. Tough course which deserves it's high rating, although not that much better than the other Murray courses. Very few simple holes. Those par threes mentioned elsewhere are beauties, so don't be afraid to lay up if your not long. And not just the threes. Bunkers are cleverly placed, both fairway and protecting greens, however my usual whinge about the depth and quality of the sand holds true. Fairways are immaculate and would look a picture when green. Greens are huge and the variety of potential pin placements changes each hole dramatically. Came away with plus 1 and pretty chuffed about that. Plush resort clubhouse with all the mod cons. Well stocked pro shop with helpful staff. Cost was $47 including comp fees. Would suggest staying here if possible as it's a fair haul from Swan Hill accommodation including the narrow bridge over the Murray. This course rates highest for me from Corowa to Swan Hill, but only just. Happy to have played a selection of them. A must. The Relic.

Murray Downs is Back.. I played it twice over Christmas and the greens have recovered and the course is once again in fantastic condition. It was very sad to see what happend to the greens over winter but it is now again the best course in the region by some distance in my view.

Played recently, unfortunately the greens were very ordinary, apparently there was a problem with a pre-emergent spray !! I mean they were nearly dead, couldn't believe it !! Rest of course was its usual high standard. I imagine it might be post Christmas at least before greens are back to anywhere near what was the usual standard on this track.

Love the course, great fairways and bunkers. I've stayed and played it several times and it has always been in great nick. The wife and I played in a couple of members comps in feb 2012 and we were made most welcome. The on course accomodation is very comfortable and friendly, the club house can get packed at dinner so get in early or you can wait a long time to get fed. The next trip will be a boys weekend and im looking forward to it.
