The new “Bungool” course designed by the internationally renowned Bob Harrison is a true “risk and reward” course as it ebbs and flows following the magnificent Hawkesbury River, promising a exceptional challenge for even the most seasoned and skilful golfers. Played Bungool 28/1. Seems like some budget cuts have hit, the GPS units have been taken out of the carts, plus some of the nice features like esky and club brush. The carts have seen better days! Driving range had run out of balls, nobody there to pick them all up. Expect better for $105 a round. Course is still nice enough, though there were a few greens that had diseased badly and were bare of grass. The bistro is in bad need of an upgrade, its looking stuck like it was in 1993, green carpet, marks on walls etc. It used to be so much nicer. Still for the green fees charge I expect a bit better.

Played here recently after a very wet spell and was impressed with conditions.

Bungool is by far the better of the two courses here at Riverside Oaks.

Not a long course due to some tricky short par 4's but it can jump up and grab you if you    are just a little of your game.

A stern start with hole 1 requiring an accurate elevated approach to the green.

Hole 2 is an intimidating tee shot from the tiger tees with water left and bush right.

There is more room however than you and the approach shot plays longer than you think.

There's a warm up for the rest of the course.

The setting for the first 8 and last 2 holes is majestic sitting on higher ground above the river.

Holes 8-16 are played on relatively flat flood plain land that unfortunately does not have river views.

However a very clever use of bunkering and green locations and contouring really enhance the location.

Plenty of kangaroos in this part of the course to keep you interested if your game is struggling.

A well designed course, clever use of bunkering, risk and reward approaches to most greens and quality of greens and fairways were excellent.

This course is not for the faint hearted, so if you can't break 100 at an easy course. Gangarru is more forgiving or play from the forward tees.

Course is improving since I first played here 3 years ago and deserves to be in the top 50 courses in Australia.

Good fun course in better condition than the Gangurru course next door. Unique mix of holes with lots of shortish Par 4s and only 3 Par 3s. Undulating greens and thick rough will test players of all abilities. Home to thousands of Kangaroos. Enough water to keep things interesting. Is sure to grow in profile, get in now before the crowds discover this gem.
