Long Reef Golf Club is so far my favourite golf club in Sydney.

I played on New Year's Day. The price of a 9 hole afternoon round was reasonable at AUD 25. There is a terrific wholesome atmosphere at the course as you can see paragliders in the distance and the Pacific ocean.

I found the course map to be a bit confusing as it seems like there might be some mistakes on it.

Great course. Well maintained and cracking views. Semi recent cored greens but just about back to normal.

I've only played this course twice but the players/members have great etiquette, which is unfortunately hard to find around Sydney. A nice links test that is fairly forgiving if you miss the fairway from the tee, but there are a few water hazards that make you leave the driver in the bag. When the wind is up just think less is more.

Long Reef is a great course and what a day out with the views there!!! I have played there many times and every day it's a like a new course given the wind changes. Fantastic kikuyu fairways and superb Poa/Bent greens. From the main road one thinks "I'll eat this up" until you get out there and then it eats you!! Leave the fairways and you have to contend with gnarly Parramatta grass, you have to be a good putter, NO, excellent putter not to have a 3 putt out there! The guys in the pro-shop, contrary to other reveiws are always helpful and courteous. The club house...well i defy you to find a better location on the ocean in Sydney for a well priced delicious lunch. Though with with such a great location, prices and menu the "snack bar" can be a little slow. FULLY RECOMMENDED. OH! and if you should meet Danny Vera have a dig at him about his Roosters!!

I played over the long weekend and the course was in amazing condition... The greens here are amongst the best I have played, fast but true... All the small details around the course where just finished off nicely. In terms of layout you really have to think your way around the course with ball placement really important... I didn't pull out my driver till the 8th hole, but the course didn't feel short. The back nine opens nicely and with the wind blowing it was fun to hang some balls over O/B and watch them come back around. The clubhouse... Wow what a way to finish... though the beers were a little pricey the view is amazing and is a great way to finish the round.

I played Long Reef yesterday under perfect conditions. To my surprise the wind that would be blowing off the ocean everyday was just a slight cooling breeze. The course is in amazing condition, the fairways were like carpet and the green run true & fast. For anyone that has played here you know that getting off line and into the Parramatta grass is not a great idea but in most places you could play out of it. I was lucky not not be in the rough too much. I totally suggest playing early morning if you can during summer, it a great way to start the day.
