Played Killara last year & thought it was a good golf course but could be a very good one. Not much space & surrounded by Suburbia so a bit restricted in terms of how it could be altered, but I reckon a tremendous 12 hole course could be created from it. If all you care about is conditioning of a course, you'll love Killara.

Played here a few weeks ago and it was fair to say it was a disaster. A paltry set of practice nets for a crack of dawn tee time and a practice green that was inconsistent compared to the greens on the course by a large margin. The tee boxes had not been cut for weeks, playing like a first cut of rough on any other course, fairways that simply blended in with the rough. No run on the fairways whereas conversely within and on the greens, the ball would hop through the green like a the Duracell bunny. Found the green complexes to very very boring and quite simply not acceptable for a club of such a high eschalon. Hard to imagine how they can produce a pristine course for NSW am every year. To top it off, clubhouse seemed outdated and in need of refurbishment, pro shop staff were not very accomodating and found the need to serve members instead of visitors first. All in all, if I were to be given a gif voucher, I'd happily decline.not worth a 30min drive from the CBDs.

Good layout in some parts, to hilly in areas. like the idea of the 3 paddocks, highlight hole: 8th Par 3. fairways: terrible and thick greens: smooth

Killara is a real hidden gem on Sydney's north shore. The course is in pristine condition with well-established facilities. Fairways can be on the narrow side with quick putting surfaces. Very enjoyable round.

I was expecting a course similar to its neighbour Avondale. Although its not quite as good as Avondale, it still is an exceptional course which is very well maintained. I can't remember how many times you cross the road, but its atleast 3 or 4. The fairways and greens are superb - they must have a big supply of water at this course. Well definitely be back, especially getting on for free being a reciprical club.

Killara is a decent course which is kept in so so condition. There are a few interesting holes but the 3 different land parcels detracts from the course. Definitely not a bad course by any means but not as nice as pymble or avondale next door
