Played this course for the second time in a month.. everytime I
drove the fairway I ended up having a lie that I expect when I
hit OB. The rough to the side of the fairways is in better nick
then the fairway… Could and should be a lot better…
Greens are also in need of some work…
This course has been black banned by our social club until it is
back up to scratch…
played it again shot even ….....
nice greens …...... bad fairways ….......
just over a month ago Beverley Park changed its layout. Holes
1,2,3,4,5 are as normal, but then you go to the old 15,16,17,18
to complete the front 9. Holes 10,11,12,13,14 are as normal then
you finish home on the old 6,7,8,9.
It is a great new layout that created an inner and outer circle
to play, which eliminates the old parrallel up and down pattern
of the old course.
The greenstaff have been doing a brilliant job of late, and the
course is in great condition, with exception of the fairway on
the 14th, but if your tee shot is long enough, you should carry
the gur anyway.
this is a fantastic course!
although it is a flat course and dropdeadeasy to judge distances
and such...you have to be careful of one thing only...the wait.
this golfcourse is extremely busy. and for the rec. golfer,
cancel all your appointments for the day, as this'll be a
long one. it took me just under 5 hours to complete the golf
course, that includes skipping a hole to get past a group of
deeeero kids running amuck!
the golf course is special, great tees, perfect greens, fairways
are awesome too.
the only suggestion i can make is for the golf course to not
allow freakin homeboys on the course, its annoying and
I had driven past Beverely park a couple of times and had always
like test it out as it looked very green from the road and
somewhat , well kept.
After 1 month of good solid rain, I was expecting the fairways to
be lush and soft, instead I found all of them bone dry and with
questionable lies throughout. For a flat parklands type course,
this seemed strange. Even stranger was that the greens were
absolutley ideal, fast and true. The course works on the greens
and gardens definately lifts the feel of the course and possibly
within a year or so will be something intersting.
The layout, is very 1 dimensional, with most par 4's dead
straight 325 -375 meters with the odd super sharp dogleg stuck in
to break the monotony.
It took 3 hours for the front nine. 10min rest every hole- so it
was a little frustrating.
Other than barren lies, it was enjoyable to use the great greens
that were excellently bunkered. I may be back, but for the
similar green fees- i would rather use Kogarah nearby.
Nothing special about this course. Short in length. Terrible
greens and dirt, hard fairways and poor rough.
Having been the first time I have played this course I was
impressed with how well it has been maintained despite the
drought. The fairways were in fairly good nick, the greens are
one of the best I have seen and the tee's were second to
The course does provide golfers with several challenges with
doglegs both left and right, enough bunkers to try to avoid and
even a blind par 3 has been thrown in at the 13. To top it off,
the greens are extremely fast and difficult to read making
putting very frustrating .
All in all, a pretty descent course that I may well visit again.
Having played at all St George & Sutherland Shires golf
courses since July 2005, I can safely say that Beverley Park is
one of the regions better golf challenges. Measuring 5575 metres
a Par 70 course, with 14 Par 4s ranging from 255-375 metres, one
469-metre Par 5 and three Par 3s ranging from 125-150 metres.
Holes are interesting, but has a flat layout, with many straight
up-and-back 340-metre par 4s, like the 7th, 8th and 9th.
Greens are in very good condition, making putts difficult to read
(for me at least, I had 40 putts in the round!). Bunkers are well
maintained as is the fairways. On that note, the fairways are
treelined and some very narrow (15 metres in some places along
the 18th). Wind plays a large part in the round as it is located
near Kogarah Bay. They also have colour-differentiated pin flags
for the location of the pin on the green, which I think is a
great idea. They also have an aerial view (in colour) of the hole
at EVERY tee, to great detail, showing bunkers and the different
Cost is very reasonable as well, $22 for 18 holes on a weekday
(played here 29/11/05) is great value. A lot of narrow holes,
requires players to be very accurate of the tee. Course could do
with some water holes, perhaps a dam/lake somewhere, just to
increase the challenge and scenery. All in all, a good course and
will play here again for sure, to lower that score.
Beverley Park is a really nice golf course. Not too long, not too
short, just right.
The staff are always friendly and helpful and golf shop is great
The greenkeepers at the golf course never sleep! I have never
seen an urban golf course maintained to such class. The tees are
cut to perfection.
Nice easy par 4s easy to reach with short chips for birdies.
My only dilemma with this course, and I mite sound old school,
but the management have to look at who they allow on the course.
They allowed local bogans with skate shoes and board shorts on,
we were playing behind them and they were running wild with their
carts living attique up in smoke
apart from that. excellent course, highly recommend.
I joined this course because i wanted to find out if I liked the
game of golf or not, and my thought process was i would only find
that out if i played in comp. This is by a long way the best
course in the sutherland shire area, the new green keeper has
done such a great job. Forget Cronulla or Woolloware the pro shop
staff are extremely good at what they do. If they ever referb the
clubhouse this will become an expensive course to play. Get on
whilst its still cheap. The greens are without a doubt the best
in that area.
Today was the first time in 12 years that I played the course and
the first time in an open comp and I found the course and company
uninspiring. Very forgiving fairways, flat and the shaggy greens
made putting a breeze (for me to only have 26 putts says
Take a good mate to enjoy the time, but if you fly solo you will
not enjoy the day.
Only a year into my game this is a good challenge and can be
rewarding for those of us who don't necessarily hit the right
fairway each time!
The fact that it is quite forgiving means that you should carry a
crash helmet - balls are falling everywhere but that kinda gives
the course a relaxed feel as long as you don't take this game
Have played it now 4 or 5 times - the course is in fairly good
nick for the price you pay (but nothing spectacular) but if you
play it on a windy day get used to seeing the rough, especially
on the front 9.
Not quite sure if they've relaxed the rules from some of the
previous member's comments, but I've always seen plenty
of players totally out of "official" dress code and
single players just rocking up at the end of the day to get on,
staff seem pretty relaxed themselves. Worth the 30 mins drive
from the city just to get your confidence up for the game. Only
my view of course.
Very wide and long holes. Good for beginners who want to build up
there confidence for playing the game. Also pleasent course to
Very flat course.
A lot of parallel holes of similar length makes this course a
