It think Lowflyinghawk sums it up very well – nice enough
course but others better close by. How it rates in the top 100 is
beyond me. Some nice views and challenging holes but not an
overly enjoyable course.
One of the best courses on the south coast of NSW. The view on
many holes is sensational, perhaps not as good as the first few
holes at Narooma but the layout is much more interesting and the
condition is generally much better right across the course.
It’s a solid walk but no problem if you’re reasonably
fit. Some pin positions add the equivalent of half a shot to the
par of the hole (e.g. back of the 4th and 14th, front left corner
of the 6th), and with the wind blowing some holes can be pretty
cruel. The clubhouse has million dollar views. Probably the best
aspect of Tura Beach is that every hole is different and
memorable in its own right. There’s very little of the
“up and back” side-by-side fairways that you find at
so many other courses (especially Pambula/Merimbula). Most of the
par 5s are reachable in two for the long hitters, and even we
also-rans have a chance at a few of them.
A very testing course due to the length of some holes and slope
of the fairways due to the fact that the course is built on the
side of a steep hill, making it a tough walk and placing a
premium on ball positioning off the tees. I found the back nine
to be quite dull with a lot of long straight holes that went
across or up and down the hill. The front nine, as well as being
significantly flatter, has more variety and character. Overall a
nice course and a good test of golf, but in my opinion inferior
to Bermagui, Eden and Pambula-Merimbula.
A very good test of golf.
Long Par4s and 5s and very challenging par3s
Have played there several times and have not been disapointed.
The greens are always fast and true and the fairways are in great
Its a thinkers golf course. Dont get up to the tee and bang the
driver, because danger lurks on most holes.
A tough walk, probably better to cart it, but well worth playing
in you are down south
Loved it have played it twice and im coming back for the more. A
tough demanding course with a first class club house with views
to die for looking over the pacific ocean. This course has
everything good holes bad holes undulations unforgiving greens
water hazzards plenty of bush. Have a bad day here and it can
cruel you but have a go it's a great track four and half
stars for me.
At just over 6,000 metres this course has some very demanding
holes. The par 4 14th is the longest par 4 on the course (377m)
but with the hilly nature of the back 9 in particular, par is
difficult to achieve. The par 5's are also relatively short
with the 2nd at 467m being guarded by water to the front right
and all along the back of the green. It is the par 3's that
can blow out your score particularly the 3rd (181m) and the 5th,
also at 181m but with nearly all of that guarded by water on the
The opening tee is set high near the very recently upgraded
clubhouse and shares some great views of the coast.
Very worthwhile playing and a very tough walk.
