Our Championship Hilltop course is 18 holes of bushland beauty, situated so that you can still hear the waves rolling in on the pristine Mollymook Beach. Hilltop is affectionately known as "The Ultimate Challenge" and was rated No. 83 golf course in the March 2004 edition of The Australian Golf Digest. With meandering tree-lined fairways and undulating greens, Hilltop provides a stern test for any golfer. However, no matter how your game of golf is going, you will always enjoy the walk and serenity created by the amphitheatre of native Australian flora and fauna.

Hilltop
Great golf course - plenty of challenging holes with the stretch from 10 thru 12 absolute belters! Played the Sunday comp the other day with some tricky pins, throw in hard greens & a bit of wind and you've got yourself a very interesting test of your golf game. The bent greens were cut a little longer than normal but were still true but I'm told when they're cut short, the greens can be off the scale. Course/greens were in excellent shape. Is rated over par and I can see why!

Hilltop
Mollymook (Hilltop) measures 6225m Par 72 with four par 3s ranging from 147-162m, ten par 4s ranging from 319-398m and four par 5s ranging from 452-516m. I know the rankings of Australia's courses are an imperfect way of measuring architectural merit, but they are a reasonable guide to use. Mollymook (Hilltop) was ranked as high as #83 (Australian Golf Digest March 2004) and #97 (Australian Golf Digest March 2006 & 2008) but since then it has fallen outside the top 100. Although, Narooma is currently ranked #75 (Australian Golf Digest March 2012) and has consistently out-ranked Mollymook (Hilltop) as the top south coast course, Mollymook (Hilltop) is as good as Shoalhaven Heads, Bermagui, Tura Beach and even Narooma. Course has well-maintained lush kikuyu grass fairways which are usually cut very short. The teebeds are mostly rye grass with some couch teebeds on 10 and 11. The 20-30m long medium sized bentgrass greens are well paced and reasonably smooth (apart from the 13th which is mostly dead in the front). Apart from 9th and 13th all greens are bunkered with a total of 34 bunkers on the course. The layout boasts tall gum and eucalypt trees lining its wide fairways. I don't feel accuracy is paramount here as the tall trees which line the rough have wide fairway landing areas and most of the water hazards in general play (at holes 5, 7, 10, 11, 12, 13 & 17) do require a wayward shot to end up wet. Although you never the ocean from the course you can certainly hear the waves crashing by the shore especially on the front nine. The front nine is generally flatter than the back nine and arguably less challenging too. The index rating of holes is strange with the 365m slight bend left 3rd (index 1) being shorter than 5 other par 4s here with similar style of play and greenside bunkering. Regardless, FRONT NINE highlights include: the 398m slight bend left 4th (index 7) with a wide fairway with OOB homes far left of the trees to a green with a bunker 20m short left and another 2 greenside bunkers right; the 352m 7th (index 9) with a yellow-staked water hazard along the entire leftside rough which cuts across the fairway about 50m short of the 40m long narrow green guarded by 2 shortside bunkers; and the 516m straight and uphill 8th (index 5) with an elevated green with a bunker short left which is all visible from the tee. The stretch of holes 10-12 are the BACK NINE highlight: the 358m downhill 10th (index 12) with the green guarded by a pond 2m over the back edge and 3 bunkers left and rightside; the signature 380m slight bend left 11th (index 3) with a teeshot in front of the maintenance shed to a right-sloping fairway with water hazard along the rightside rough to a long and narrow green guarded by another large pond 2m right and a 30m long bunker short right fringing the rightside fairway and the pond; and the 162m 12th (index 10) requires an accurate teeshot from the elevated tee over a yellow-staked creek 10m short of the green guarded by a bunker short right. The par 3s are generally similar in length but vary somewhat in challenge. No par 4s are over 400m in length but all are bunkered and most flags are not visible from the teebed so executing your shot shape is crucial. The 8th and 18th are both uphill par 5s which are beside each other. The course is approximately 10-50m above sea level with the back nine having more bunkers, sloping fairways and undulation than the front nine. The Ulladulla urban area has around 15000 people and is located 65km (or 45 minutes) south of Nowra. Course access is from Combre Drive (between Milton and Ulladulla off the Princes Highway by turning left into Bishop Drive where a large golf ball structure is located) Played here 22/03/2012 from the back plates with $45 green fees or $30 green fees for 9 holes. If this is too much, then you can play at Mollymook (Beachside) course at $17 for 9 holes. Apart from the sand-based Shoalhaven Heads layout, Mollymook (Hilltop) is better any other Shoalhaven golf course. Mollymook (Hilltop) is one of the better conditioned and more challenging layouts south of the Shoalhaven River to the Victorian border. Call the proshop on (02) 4455 2055.

Hilltop
probably the best course on the south coast. Played this course during jan and was left extremely satisfied again. The course was in outstanding order with fairways tight and the greens moderately quick. The back 9 is a fantastic challenge and tests every part of your game. Can't wait to come back.

Beachside
Mollymook (Beachside course) measures 2090m Par 33 with four par 3s ranging from 106-172m, four par 4s ranging from 230-302m and the 422m Par 5 5th. This 9-holer still has no tee number or hole distances on the tee mounds but is easy to follow. The front and back nine uses the same tee mound with no change to the distance or par of the front or back nine tee mounds. 1st/10th 230m short Par 4 with an uphill teeshot over the Riversdale Avenue road to a long and narrow bunkerless green. 2nd/11th 116m slightly downhill teeshot with a bunker short left. 3rd/12th 302m slight bend right and slightly downhill teeshot with a pond 230m off the tee on the right and then plays slightly uphill to a bunkerless green with the OOB Golf Avenue far right. 4th/13th 299m straight hole over a gully with a fairway bunker 200m off the tee on the right to a green guarded by a bunker short right. 5th/14th 422m the only Par 5 on the course with a pond 200-240m off the tee across the fairway which then plays slightly uphill to the 30m long green guarded by a bunker 20m short left and another 10m short right with OOB homes on the right near the green. 6th/15th 106m easy 30m long bunkerless green surrounded by homes. 7th/16th 150m probably one of the best par 3s with an elevated teeshot to the green below which is heavily bunkered rightside by 4 bunkers. 8th/17th 293m uphill slight bend right with OOB Riversdale Avenue on the right to a bunkerless green. 9th/18th 172m the longest and most challenging par 3 with another downhill teeshot over the Riversdale Avenue road to a green with a bunker short left and the beach as a backdrop in the background. Course has fairly well maintained kikuyu grass fairways and rough with a short tree-lined fairway layout. The small-to-medium sized bent grass greens are generally flat and slow. There are 4 unbunkered holes with a total of 10 bunkers on the course. All flags are visible from the tee mounds. There is always the possibility of golf balls landing on your fairway here as the course is frequented by the beginners and less frequent golfers. The Ulladulla urban area has around 15000 people and is located 65km (or 45 minutes) south of Nowra. Played here 27/12/11 with $17 green fees for 9 holes. Course access is from Golf Avenue at the Mollymook Golf Clubhouse. Great clubhouse and good ocean rock views on the 8th tee and beach views on the 9th tee.

Hilltop
Played a round here yesterday (end of Sept 2010) for a charity golf day. Course was picture perfect even after the devastating wind storms that have played havoc in the part of the world. Some damage was evident, particularly on the 17th green where a massive gum tree has fallen right across, but the green staff have really done the course and members proud. Greens were a tad sandy but still playable and challenging. Such a beautiful course and well worth the effort.
