Played the front nine at the twilight rate and found it very enjoyable despite the numerous bunkers which stop you from having an easy life. The mozzies do come out as the sun sets, so bring your insect repellent for any afternoon of golf.

This is a golf course, interesting layout, keep the ball in play and you will have a great day here the bushland can be penal.

Played it in a howling wind which was challenging but definitely manageable

17th hole is a cracker, dont go left, right or long its a good round wrecker if you do

The greens were recently cored and the guy in the proshop gave me a discount on my green fee as a result.

Fairways and rough areas were in good condition

I will be returning again soon

Played 28/12/15

Was presently surprised by the course after all the previous ownership and management issues in its history. I found the whole course to be in great condition 9/10, and would gladly play it again. (Which I partly did, by replaying 7 holes), as it was play until dark after 3PM. The course is tough, if your spraying it, with heavy scrub or water/wetlands lining both sides of most fairways, and sometimes also the rear of the green complexes. It is generally flat, as you would expect being located within a wetland / swamp area, but with enough undulation . ( Natural or man-made ? ) to make it interesting. Its a course I could play on a regular basis and not get bored. I think it will be back in the Top 100 shortly

Raced around for a quick 18 this afternoon, keen to see one of my faves from 90s has recovered from past negligence. Well i agree with others that it is in good nick for a members run maintenance track. It remains interesting and challenging with a variety of shots needed. Fairways pretty good, some drainage issues that i put down to recent rains. Greens were sloooow but ok, not great like they once were, but what can you expect. Seems to me Horizons remains a great course, but the clock is ticking and there are dozens of signs that a major refurb will be needed in the next 5-10 years to maintain a solid standard....truly hope this will occur.

Visited here 10 years ago and thoroughly enjoyed it. However on my latest visit I was not so impressed. My main issue was I rang the pro shop on the Thursday, who advised that they have a twilight special, play after 2pm pay $30 for 9 or 18 holes. Arriving on the Friday afternoon at 3.30 the staff member looked at me like I was an idiot and said they have not done twilight specials for many years. I really don't mind paying the ticket price but they need to work on a uniform approach. I think the club is being run on a skeleton budget and the course and facilities are not too bad considering.

Horizons is a credit to the members who are maintaining it while ownership is in limbo. The course has improved dramatically over the last few months and is now back to its former glory and an absolute pleasure to play
