‘Crackerdust Country Club’ as it is known in Broken
Hill, is all dirt, except for synthetic grass tees & a
recently ill-conceived square couch grass green 18th. The rest of
the course – fairways, rough, scrapes – are all dirt.
Before 1992, when the “North” course was grassed, the
South course was where most of the town’s good golfers
played. Those days, however, are long gone.
If you want to play golf, drive 8km to the “North”
Country Club on the other side of town & play one of
Australia’s best country courses. If not, go up the road to
the Napredak Club & play Bocce & drink beer.
