Murwillumbah golf course is arguably one of the finest in Australia. Close to Mt Warning National Park, the towering mountain peak is ever-present as you traverse the spectacular layout. The natural beauty and serenity of the course has to be experienced to be believed and no keen golfer should miss the opportunity to play here.

The Club’s signature hole, known as the Pump House, is the par 5, 522 metre 14th that doglegs left. An accurate drive between the trees, fading to the right half of the fairway followed by a three-wood second up to the left and finally a solid short iron the flag is the ideal way to attack this beauty.

Other holes carry such unforgettable names as the Bull Paddock, Hatton’s Bluff, Lion’s Lair and the Duckpond.

Excellent golf course!! Played this morning early and was around in 3 hours (cart). Challenging course with no easy shots and large greens mean you have to have your short game on to score. Back of the course you have Mt Warning in the background and very pleasant. Good mix of long holes and a bunch of risk/reward holes makes this is a good test of golf.

This is a real gem. Played mid June and although other courses were very wet this course was quite dry. The greens were excellent and the layout of the course was interesting and a challenge. Staff and members were very helpful. Compulsory stop for a snack/coffee half way is a good practise as well

Situated on the western outskirts of town, Murwillumbah Golf Club is the perfect setting for a challenging and relaxing game of golf. The surrounding scenery will keep your round enjoyable but there are plenty of challenging factors out there to test golfers of all levels. The steep undulation gives some great elevated tee shots along with some daunting approaches to elevated and well bunkered greens. The front nine is more undulated and the stand out holes are probably the long dogleg par 4 7th with a severe right to left sloping fairway and the next hole which is a shortish par 3 but anything missed right will likely end up at the bottom of a hill. The back nine opens up a little more and is seemingly easier than the front. The feature hole on the back is certainly the par 4 17th with Rous River running down the left from tee to green. The water on the course generally isn't in play which is probably a shame considering Murwillumbah challenges most other aspects of your golf game. If the dam that sits about 30m from to the right of 16th green was instead sitting up against the putting surface it would probably make it a really spectacular par 3. The overall condition of the course is top rate and an interesting and challenging layout combined with the scenic border ranges as a backdrop should encourage any golfing enthusiast from Brisbane to Ballina to test their game at one of the best courses in the northern NSW.
