Gloucester Golf Club is certainly one of the most scenic courses in the Manning District with a gentle undulating 9 hole layout set on the southern edge of town beside the Bucketts Way. Fairways are reasonably wide in parts and are lined by tall gums and pines. On the 2nd/11th however, the fairway is seriously narrow to the dogleg and only the most accurate drive will find the fairway safely on this 400m par 4. Other notable holes include the right bending par 4 5th/14th with a downhill tee shot and great views toward the Bucketts Mountains and the par 3 6th/15th with a great elevated tee on the 6th and a longer tee shot on the 15th over a large dam toward an elevated green.  The course maintenance is quite reasonable with well irrigated fairways, soft greens and 12 bunkers spread throughout. Each hole at Gloucester seems to offer up something different and the peaceful surrounds and fresh country air make for a relaxing round and a great alternative from the busier 18 hole courses on the coast. $25 for 18 holes.

Played this course a few years back and it was an ok course. Now though the greenkeepers have improved it out of sight. The teebeds are raised and more defined, the greens are well maintained and true, and due to the recent rain the course is looking great. Hats off to Hairy and the boys!!!

Measuring Par 36 3038m (alternating tees, although most front and back nines are on the same teebed) with 2 Par 3s ranging from 140-180m 5 Par 4s ranging from 300-400m and two pars ranging from 455-465m.

Some standard country course, with decent greens, with areas of good cover, fairways green and trimmed close, teebeds a little disappointing.

Some good holes: 142m 6th has elevated tee, with small green guarded by bunkers short and on the sides, with steep embankment on right, with dam on right, but not in play. In fact the closing 3 holes are quite challenging, with the par 5 455m 8th playing longer with an uphill walk to an elevated green. First few holes have standard doglegs and only 1 bunker guarding most greens.

Played here 21/9/06 and paid $15 green fees. Course is privately owned, as it was a dairy farm converted to a 9-hole course. Could do worse, I suppose.
