my father is a member of this course, at times even he gets the treatment that the staff are extreamly rude to it seems anybody that wants to play there. granted not everybody is a a...hole which makes for an enjoyable round. sometimes sertasin players on the course are a bit slow (6hrs) for a round and no they wounldnt let us play through. Normally we can play 18 in 3.5-4 hrs and its an enjoyable round of golf.

Myself, and 3 longtime golfers jumped into the car on the Central Coast this morning excited at the anticipation of our turn at playing a "new course"... Waratah Golf Club. I'm not usually the type of person to bag out a course, as I know great people work hard to make places like this available. But I feel obligated to let the playing community know how our day went. Every staff member was morose and uninterested. We hit of the first hole and within 2 wholes we had a series of old pompous groups of men with hands on their hips trying to play through. As we had no problems with this and we invited them through, twice and both times they crused on through with no respect. Just a note, we weren't playing slow. These blokes just seemed as they were in a rush, they weren't taking pins out when putting and pitch marks certainly we're not get any treatment. Another cronie got stuck into is because our cart wasn't parked in the correct spot. This message was delivered in the vinegar tongue we had become a costumed to. Finally, the course freed up until 2 social players dropped in on us like it was their right and the attitude delivered there was unnecessarily aggressive. The greens and fairways were really good considering the recent weather. So it was just a shame as the attitude of the club is up there with the worst I've played. A very disappointing day had by all.oh yeah, we went in for a beer after the round and as we sat down to enjoy.. Yep more unwelcoming comments. Pull your heads in waratah.

Played at Waratah last Saturday and found the course to be a real eye opener. The greens are excellant and although the fairways are flat, found the course to be extremely challenging. The greens are very small compared to most courses which requires a good short game. Talking to some of the members after the game, it is no wonder that Waratah has dominated the "A" grade pennants in the Newcastle district over the last 5 years. The course attracts the best players to test themselves. Would recommend to all levels of golfers.

Played at Waratah yesterday. I found the fairways in excellent condition. The greens have been cored and are extremely slow and sandy. Any break on the green is naturally reduced. I found the course easy to play and if you are straight off the tee you won't have much trouble posting a good score. I play off 12 and shot even par for the fitst time ever. Admittedly I have been in good form with my last 5 games in single figures and I played good yesterday with 12 out of 18 greens in regulation and 4 up and downs but I don't think the course plays difficult. The back 9 in particluar is very open. There are some challenging par 3's and a few nice dogleg par 4's but a few of the par 5's are too short, in particular the 16th, which required a 3 iron and a 6 iron to be on in 2. But overall it's a fun course which apart from the greens being cored is in excellent condition.

what a joke this course is, every time you play here, you tee off about an hour after you have been told you can tee off, slow play is encouraged and the attire of most olfers is despicable. course is in good condition but constant waiting around for young kids riding on the back of carts and stuffing around on greens make for a very angry day.if you have atleast 5 to 6 hours to kill, this is the course for you. i will not be back anytime soon.
