Not a real pleasant experience staff not very nice at all and very condescending. Fairways have been peppered by corellas and too many bindi

Truly awful golfing experience. The putting surfaces were a mix of sand, bare patches, with the occassional bit of grass. If this was my only option to play golf - I wouldn't play golf.

I've played all the Newcastle courses and surrounding areas and Beresfield was a breath of fresh air. My brother and I played mid November 2014, only a week after the greens were done. The greens were great for a council course and barely a blemish on the fairways. Although short the course calls for reasonably accurate drives and precise, shortish, irons on most holes. 11 holes - 7 par 4's, 3 par 3's and a par 5. A few bunkers, good for practice play, some water in play and some tee shots that need to shaped. All in all a pleasant round without too many people (mid week).

I've started to get back into golf after a few years off due to my work comitments, I play at Waratah golf course due to my father being a member there as well as beresfield. What I find with beresfield is that if you dont take your round serious enough you will be punished, for the type of course it is I find it a very good course for the money you pay to play a round, the greens are good fairways not to bad either nice staff and a very friendly attmosphere.

This Course is a great course for beginners, average golfers and experienced golfers. It has a challenge for everybody and although it is mostly flat with some slope and only has 4 bunkers, it is more challenging then it appears to be. It is an 11 hole course and you can play 18 by playing the first 7 holes again but 11 holes is good if you want to get a game in before or after work etc and after 3:00 PM there is a green fee special: $5 for members and $10 for visitors/guests. But overall the greens and fairways are in great condition, if not better than some of Newcastles private clubs and it has water hazards but arnt too much of a challenge to get over.

Beresfield is council owned and yes is only 11 holes (18 if you play first 7) The course at Beresfield is becoming more of a challenge as the saplings planted many years ago are starting to become nice trees so if you stray expect to be punished and the members at Beresfield are friendly polite and welcome all visitors to try and beat our course up
