Situated on the banks of the Barwon River, Mungindi Golf Club offers basic golfing facilities with a 9 hole sand green layout measuring 5383m. On most holes, the fairways are quite forgiving and driver is encouraged especially on the short par 4s. The 400m par 4 2nd/11th is the hardest hole on the course and probably one of the toughest par 4s you'll play in the bush. Trees sit 30m or so from the tee to create a tunnel like tee shot and a bunch of medium sized trees block the fairway 230m further down. To further compound the difficulty, a long iron is needed to clear more trees and a hazard which blocks the view towards the flag while anything missed left will drop onto the river bank. Par here is a great result! There are some good holes here but the overall feel of the course is a bit uninviting with missing or vandalised tee signage and a barb wire fence surrounding the clubhouse. Probably best suited for a quick social hit and for any enthusiastic sand green golfer.
