Situated beside the New England Highway on the northern side of town, Deepwater Golf Club boasts 9 large square shaped sand greens with wide fairways lined by gums, pines and poplars. The course opens up with a long par 5 that plays slightly up hill and measures 536m. Other challenging holes include the par 4 6th/15th with a slight left dogleg and a couple of large gums that sit around 50m from the tee and the uphill par 3 8th which measures over 200m. Approaching the greens can be tricky at times with inconsistent sand coverage with some playing quite hard and fast. Combining this with lush Kikuyu surrounds and it can be difficult to hit the putting surface. There are several popular 18 holes courses in the region but Deepwater shouldn't be disregarded with a quaint country feel, some interesting holes and the charm and inconsistency of sand green golf. $10 for 18 holes.
