Wollongong Golf Club is a picturesque course that runs along Wollongong’s city surf beach with views looking out over the Pacific Ocean.

Looking to the western side of the course there are magnificent views of the luscious green mountains that surround Wollongong.

The club has hosted many tournaments over the years, most recently the NSW P.G.A. Championships (2009 - 2011) and the Jack Newton Subaru State Age Championships (2014 - 2015).

Although Wollongong Golf Club is one of the oldest in Australia, and fast approaching a 120 year milestone, the core values and philosophy have remained the same with mateship, enrichment and respect being at the heart of everything we do.

Played here regularly. The greens are very good and the course is always maintained to a great standard. Some of the holes that run along the beach can be a little dry due to watering issues and the bunker sand can be a little inconsistent but if you stay on the fairways its all good. The course has been used regularly by NSW PGA for their major events and is fun tough off the blacks.

It's certainly no Pebble Beach but does have some amazing beach/coastal views when teeing off on a few holes! Currently only 16 holes in play and it's in pretty good nick, the proshop said we could play as many extra holes we liked If we wanted... 2 new holes look great will be back in April for a look if not before.

WARNING: This course is undergoing major construction! A fact I had to find out for myself after almost paying over the odds to play here for the first time. The churlish pro tried to charge us $10 more than the normal Monday rate, then neglected to inform us the course was only 16 holes while work is on. To add insult to injury, the supposed championship layout had a green mowed on the fairway, so make that 15 holes. When I had the audacity to point this out on return to said pro, instead of apologising for upsetting a first-time visitor, he said, "Oh, I thought I told you that", and "it's an all-day rate, don't you know". Left seriously regretting not playing Port Kembla just down the road where they charge $15 for Mondays and don't pretend to be anymore than they are. Not sure what all the fuss is about with this course. That said, happy to return when the work is finished to give it a second chance.

Played this 'links style' course on quite a number of occasions and whilst I have had some pretty low scoring rounds (25 handicap)... The course maintenance is extremely frustrating! Greens staff don't care that players are waiting for them to finish and even had to wait for 20 mins on one occasion (mid morning on a weekend) for the greens staff to finish mowing the green! A southerly wind will wreak havoc on your tee shots for the first 11 holes but make you drive like a champion for the remainder. Some Fairways can be quite bare for most of the year as the course is very rain affected.

One of the best courses I've ever played. The Greens and Fairways were perfect and the scenery was very good. Looking forward to playing there again.

Not worth the $40 green fee. Course is up and down and very tight. Fairways are rock hard which is to be expected in Summer. If you don't hit your drive straight, you are always on another fairway, which makes avoiding errant balls a regularity. The ground staff seemed oblivious to the golfers. One stood watering the green on a par 3 with his back to the golfer - flag in the pin. The sprinklers were watering the fairway on the 2nd hole as well as the tee box on the 16th. This at 11am with a full playing field. The round took just on 4.5 hours to play. The highlight hole would have to be the Par 5 18th.
