Tossed up between playing Shell Cove and Port Kembla and glad we made the decision to play PK over the Easter Weekend.  A very flat course and not overly long but very picturesque and well maintained.  Fairways were immaculate and the greens were of a good speed and held well, even on long irons.  While enjoying the layout, there are a lot of holes that are very similar which was a little disappointing.  Overall though, a very good course and well worth playing

Played here for the first time just over a week ago and loved it. Will definitely come down from Sydney for the weekend soon just to play this course again. Have only played The Links Shell Cove down there before and much preferred Port Kembla, although they are completely different styles of course. This course has lots of really beautiful holes and some fantastic risk v reward par 4s which makes the options from the tee exciting. Greens were great to putt on and the course overall was in fantastic condition. Food in the clubhouse was great too.

This golf course is really coming along. Played in 2010, satisfied but not blown away. Returned and am really impressed. The greens are magnificent (some were heavily sanded, but still rolled true). The strength of the course is in the layout. Also, they have been very wise in creating the fashionable "sandy wasteland" affect in between holes and in some parts of rough. It is both aesthetically appealing and gives the golf course that sand belt feeling. Port Kembla is the best course in the area. They have improved in almost all facets, bringing it up from a decent course to something special. Also reasonable accommodation next door, so it's an idea to stay and visit the other good courses in the area, such as Links Shell Cove and Wollongong as well. There is something special about Port Kembla, an almost magical feeling, that makes it one of my very favorite courses.

Loved it, it is the best in the area. Wind was challenging and could not handle it on the last 3 holes. Challenging course and great members. Will always look forward to playing here.

Port Kembla is the best course in the Illawarra. 14 of the 18 greens are now rebuilt - they are firm, true and friendlier than they first appear. The kikuyu fairways are well covered and bare lies are reserved for the dusty areas amongst the tee trees. I like the layout, with a good blend of holes for the big hitters, well placed water hazards and a number of shorter par 4's (6,7,10,16) that need some thought off the tee. Its an easy, flat walk and assimilates well with the coastal forrest surrounds, although the traffic along 10,11 and 16 isn't so aesthetic. As for that hump in the 18th, its certainly contentious and the members joke that they buried the old green keeper under there!
