Situated about five kilometres from town, Dungog’s 9 hole par 70 track measures just over 5600m and is surrounded by rolling hills and peaceful farm paddocks. The course opens up with a downhill 337m par 4 that has several large gums standing in the middle of the fairway along with a large dam to the left. Holes 3 to 5 present the most challenges on the course with the par 5 3rd teeing off on a dam wall and measuring 520m with OOB left. The 4th/ 13th is a tidy par 3 measuring 154m on the front and 177m on the back which hits off over a little gully and OOB looms large on the left. The 4th is a monster 410m par 4 (index 1) with an uphill tee shot and then water to carry on your approach into the green. The last three holes all feature right hand doglegs with the 9th/18th measuring 348m and playing uphill toward the clubhouse. Some changes on the back nine include the 12th which plays as a 433m par 4 and the 14th which is a 446m par 5. This is probably the most interesting hole at Dungog with the large dam at the bottom of the hill almost always forcing a measured layup on your second. Only the bigger hitters would consider going for the green in two, however any misguided long irons will likely end up in the drink. Overall, Dungog is a great little country course with an interesting layout, some challenging aspects that will test golfers of all levels and a quiet, relaxing atmosphere which makes for an enjoyable round of golf in a scenic rural setting. $20 for 18 holes.

A nice little golf club. Fairly wide open (shouldn't lose many balls), 9 greens - 14tees. Good mixture of holes 2 par 5's, 4 par 3's, 12 par 4's. Couple of dams, reasonably easy walk and easy access most days. Friendly locals, course well maintained (by volunteers), bermuda (couch) greens are reasonably good and putt well mostly. Get to hit most of your clubs. $15 for 18 holes, no clubhouse access weekdays so no drinks or hire equipment etc. Worth a game if you are in the area.
