Around about 4 or 5 years ago Goulburn Golf Club was the 'bees knees' and aside from the '18 hole factor' and the bar and bistro Tully Park and Goulbirn are usually very hard to seperate. They are both around the same in the way of social fees but when it comes to memberships Tully is just over 1/3 cheaper. Tully Park runs a junior clinic on every Saturday and is commonly known for its good hospitality. Usually Goulburn Golf Club has slightly quicker greens and both courses are almost the same in difficulty. Considering that Tully Park is voluntary run it is almost always in very good condition. Both courses are good fun and reasonably priced. If you are a junior Tully Park is the way to go and if you are over 18 it's an extremely difficult choice.

Tully Park Early Birds measures 3117m Par 44 (12 holes) with six par 3s ranging from 105-209m, four par 4s ranging from 238-383m and two short par 5s ranging from 430-442m. There is an option to play 18 holesby playing holes 1-4 and then holes 9 & 10 again for a length of 4936m Par 67. Fairways are mostly a mixture of kikuyu/rye grass and the smallish-to-medium sized bent grass greens are quite slow. There are 16 bunkers on the course. Opening 4 holes are quite interesting and varied with length and some bunkers. Then holes 5-9 are all par 3s ranging from 105-209m with the highlights being under the bridge: the 209m 6th with a tee-shot over the Wollondilly River to a wide but bunkerless green; the 173m 8th with the river between the elevated teebed and the front-sloping green guarded by a bunker short left; and the 190m uphill 9th which is back under the bridge with pines trees short left of the 20m long front-sloping 2-tier green with a bunker rightside. Apart from these highlights there are not many challenges here. The most bunkered hole is the 430m slight bend left 10th which plays gently uphill to the clubhouse with the OOB road on the left with 2 fairway bunkers 100m out from the green with another 2 bunkers guarding the green leftside and 20m short right. This is followed by 2 short par 4s which are well-bunkered. The less frequent golfers may find this one for their liking, which is why there are some rather flattering reviews here. Goulburn is a major regional city of over 20 000 people at approximately 620m above sea level in the Southern Tablelands of NSW. Played here 27/02/2012 with $10 green fees. Play at Goulburn Golf Club if you want 18 holes and more of a challenge when visiting the city.

Tully Park is a good course to practice on. The members have done well to build it up. The course used to form part of tully park country club the old club house you can see from 7th tee. In saying that once you get to a certain level Goulburn Golf club is the way to go.

Tully is my favorite golf course in the country. Its not the best quality but it sure is fun. Its a challenge for any type of golfer and with green fees of $8 it is the right price. Go have a hit you wont be sorry
